I am thinking about buying Honda CRV. What will be the pros and cons? Will spare parts be easily available? Will it be easily when I want to sell it later?

For spare parts, I don’t know what kind of spare parts you mentioned here. Any specific parts you meant ? Or are you just afraid that Honda CRV might be broken someday? It is very durable and reliable car. For example, if you just well-maintained regularly (oil, transmission fluid, tires and brakes), you don’t have to worry about spare parts ( unless you got an accident). You don’t need to change any parts. You just need to change timing belts and water pumps at 100K mileage. However, if you get the accident, you have to order parts from Thailand and China. Other parts such as tires, batteries and brakes are readily available.
1. Do not believe myanmar car brokers who talk BS (high tech, high maintenance,etc) about Honda. The fact is that they are not mechanic and they don’t know anything.
2. All honda are very reliable and durable. They are not high maintenance cars like mercedes and BMW.
3. In America, Honda is more popular than Toyota. But, in Japan, Toyota is more popular. They are like seiko and citizen in watch. Honda engines are definitely better. Honda even manufacture jet plane and generator engines whereas Toyota don’t. Honda has i-VTEC engine which is better than Toyota’s VVT-i engine.

5. It might not be easily resell due to Myanmar car brokers’ BS.
6. If you want bigger car than CRV, buy Honda Pilot. It is called Honda Pilot in America and Honda MRV in Middle East. Honda pilot is very popular in America and got plenty of awards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Pilot better space, quality, safety and reliability

I am completely agreed with ‘supersoul’.in our country,we need to change stupid traditional thinking.first we have to think about age which we living in,this is 21 century the technology is ruled the world.there is many car maker, who have the advance tech than toyota.HONDA is a world leading car maker and more popular than toyota in usa,europe and other countries especially in hybrid technology and hybrid cars.parts also we can get anytime from china,thailand and pinam[malaysia] at the present age.so what do we worry for ?

ha ha, I hope brand-name wars will not start from here..
we don’t need to be identical in our liking.. some will like TOYOTA while some prefer HONDA
it’s individual’s choice
only thing we have to emphasize here is to compare and share the pro and cons of one car and another
otherwise thread-starter will be confused
for this particular thread, I vote for HONDA CRV 
why? because I just love this BRAND!

I vote for RAV 4, it’s more stylish, and I think Toyota’s engine and suspensions are more durable, needing less maintenance.!

love my honda CRV 2000 ..I bought it around milage 60000( km) from japan.it’s nv let me down.Reliable & economical for fuel compare among compact SUV like harrier,RAV4.The car is easy to handle. The ride is acceptable but harrier is better if u want more smoother ride. Foldable Picnic table below the cargo floor is wonderful and useful if u go for camping and trip.My mom vote for it’s container under the cargo floor which is made for keeping raw meat and ice packs.great idea for shopping at wet market.
The 8inch ground clearance is quite enough to drive over holes ,obstacle and some water stream in heavy Rain in most of the roads in Yangon.The sensor detect if you are driving in heavy rain in slippery road condition and detect front wheel friction is loose than usual ,it switch to 4WD mode automatically.That’s advantage for rainy reason in Yangon.The air con is cold enough in summer too.The only cons is that it’s a little bit under power,take over another vehicle while AC is on .But i think it’s not big issue.Note that CRV is not true Off road SUV and it’s suspension doesn’t made for serious off road highway .So if you want true off road ability,better you go for surf,pajero and prado . Don’t worry for the spare parts which can get easily and guess it could be getting more and more cheap in future.

hmm….prado and surf are off road SUV type which is built on light truck chassis normally while CRV is CUV type base on car chassis. Since they are not the same type ,you can not compare between them.It’s depend on how and where are u going to use. Refer to know more.

I am not compare different car type. I want to discuss which cars are suitable for our Myanmar’s road as Naypidaw highway and urban offroad.

gonyaung and wikipeida is right. well-documented, gonyaung. You cannot compare these two cars. They are different types of vehicles. Study more about these cars. Truck based and SUV based cars cannot compare one another.
